HPS is a wonderful contractor, that I would recommend for any refurbishment or small building jobs.

Run by Howard Gold, the firm has helped me completely refurbish and redecorate two flats, which were in very poor repair and had to be completely gutted. Howard is very good at working to a budget. He helped me find reasonably priced kitchen and bathroom fittings and the various floor and walls tiles that we needed. And he even managed to negotiate a substantial discount on purchases from large suppliers.

The work was fast and efficient. In both cases the flats were ready within four weeks. And his skilled staff were very good at finding simple solutions to tricky problems. The flats, which were rental properties, both looked marvellous. And we had no trouble finding tenants. One of them was done four years ago and the flat continues to look very modern and stylish. And he was able to supply the various gas and electrical safety certificates, which we needed. I would have no hesitation in recommending HPS.

We hired Howard Gold and his team to renovate our Georgian three bedroom flat in East London.
The full renovation took around 10 weeks, and included a new kitchen, two new bathrooms, new flooring, redecoration of the living room and bedrooms, extensive refurbishment of the sash windows, as well as various works to the communal areas and outside the property. Throughout the job, Howard, Nelu and the team were professional and courteous. They worked fast, but the results were always to a high standard. There was clear communication regarding the budget, and Howard was very helpful in directing us towards suppliers, and providing advice about alternative options when we were unsure how to proceed. Howard and Nelu were always easy to get hold of, and we always felt as if they made us a priority. We would be very happy to work with them again.

A significant and persistent damp issue in the lower back end of my flat had been “bodged” a few times. Electrics were an issue and the whole thing was a mess. Howard and team were called in (based on some previous work they had completed at our offices). They are that elusive mix of efficient and sensitive in their approach to both work and neighbours. The site is tiny, and very much overlooked and yet the progress made was rapid and without complaint. Issues arose that were dealt with by experienced tradesmen and my custom design ideas were listened to, and respected by the team who helped source the parts I particularly wanted. Howard was on site regularly to ensure deadlines were (always) met and that I was fully updated as to every step or to explain where there was unavoidable additional expense.

Howard and his team came to the rescue after a major renovation project went horribly wrong when another contractor left site and defrauded us with a fairly large sum of money. The flat was a boarded shell with no plumbing, electrics or windows.

Howard was recommended to us by friends who worked with him previously. We visited a number of projects that were completed by Howard and we were very impressed with the quality of work and more so with the excellent relationship he has formed with his previous clients, who all spoke highly of Howard and the team.

Howard and the team commend work with an army of workers. He completed the project on time and on budget. He proved to be realiable, efficient and has an excellent work ethic. We felt safe dealing with Howard.

From start to finish Howard and his team have been fantastic. Every day they were punctual, at least 10 men on the job, clean and courteous, work was completed on time and constant contact was maintained throughout to ensure we were happy at every stage. From offering solutions to issues that arose, to great ideas for best use of space, to getting us the best deals on supplies, Nelu and Howard were very knowledgable and hands on. We are very happy with the quality of work completed, the way in which our project was managed and with the personal service that we received. Howard and his team did a fantastic job on our shower room and bathroom – they were helpful, gave great advice and I felt we all worked together to make both rooms perfect. The shower room was gutted, refitted and decorated (including a new floor). The work was carried out speedily and to a very high standard – we love it. I really appreciated Howard’s and his team’s patience with us – one of many examples occurred when we went to buy a shower unit without one of the measurements we needed – Howard and his team pulled together to get it for us so that we didn’t have to have a long journey to and from the shop again. The bathroom was a smaller job – a new floor, replacement of taps, shower handset and toilet, the creation of a beautiful fitted wall unit (which I drew and they made up for me), decoration and fixing of new fittings. Because of the care Howard’s team took, the room is amazing. It really felt like a team effort on all our parts. Thank you Howard! I highly recommend HPS – you guys are great!

I acquired a house in Edgware that was built in the 1940’s. It had never been touched and was very much a time warp project. I live in California, I was recommended to Howard of HPS, he took over the complete project and arranged the Architect, Structural Engineer, party wall surveyor, new electrics, gas and water feeds. The house was turned from a traditional boring 3 bedroom semi-detached into a stunning 5-bedroom home with loft conversion, rear extension, open plan kitchen/breakfast area, 3 bathrooms and stunning garden.

I gave HPS a budget and they made every decision from kitchen and bathroom design to wood flooring down to pain colours.

The house is stunning with all modern fixtures and features.

The house was immediately rented and HPS was the best decision I ever made.

I would absolutely recommend Howard and HPS and all the men for any future project.

Howard and the team have been fantastic for our build, from the moment that we were going through quotes with him we found he and the team quick and responsive. We under took some major structural changes to our original house taking out a chimney and moving room sizes as well as a loft extension and ground floor extension. This level of work would have taken most teams at least 6 months however Howard’s team had an average of 10 men on the job almost everyday and the work was completed in 20 weeks. When problems arose as they tend too on site when you uncover things they were quick to notify us and good at coming up with efficient solutions. This is true even of the smaller problems. We had never undertaken any work of this magnitude before and felt even in the most stressful parts for us that we were fully supported by Howard and the team.

We would publicly like to thank and recommend Howard Gold and his team of builders, plumbers, electricians, tilers, floor layers and all at HPS (UK). At all times, they carried out their duties with impressive skill, with total dependability and friendliness. They were also very tidy and courteous – just ask the neighbours.
